Here Comes the Taurus Judge

Author: Chad Reimer

The Taurus Judge is the most talked about new revolver to come off the Taurus Arms production line. Taurus revolvers have been around since the 1940’s and slowly crept their way to the top of the US civilian market. Revolvers have long been considered a defensive firearm, ideal for law enforcement, although the Taurus Judge is becoming a hunter’s must-have backup rifle, with a wide number of hunters taking the Judge with them in case of a dangerous predator.
The Taurus Judge is probably the most versatile firearm on the market, giving the user the ability to shoot 45 long colt, as well as 410 shotgun shell, all through the same revolver. Originally named after the many judges that carry them for protection in South America, it didn’t take much to become the hunter’s favorite revolver. Featuring several safeties, the Taurus Judge is ideal for hiking, especially with rattle snakes, wild boar, or bear.
The Taurus Judge is by far one of the most useful firearms, setting the bar high for competitors. The Judge revolver comes in a wide range of finish options and barrel sizes. The Judge is also known as the Taurus PT-4410, which is the official model designation. With features like fiber optic sights, stainless steel frames, and flawless finishing, the Taurus Judge almost looks too good to shoot.
Aside from having a great deal of takedown power, this revolver has a locking mechanism, which is patented by Taurus Arms, that doesn’t allow the Taurus to be shot unless the user has the key. The Taurus locking firing pin is one of the most popular innovations for family safety. It has been adopted by Rossi-Braztech for their revolvers; they have implemented the safety lock on all of their new productions.
During my testing of the new Taurus revolver I found it to be ideal for long distance, as well as close up, with the spreadable projectiles to take out any type of slithering menaces. When I was at the range, a good number of fellow firearms enthusiasts were showing their interest in the revolver that was spitting out 410 shells like crazy, and a number of those gentlemen told me how handy it would be when they went on wild bore hunts. One fellow told me about his plan for a concealed carry Taurus Judge, which I thought might be a little bit of overkill. However, once he showed me his 500 Smith & Wesson, I thought it might just be a better option for fit and function.
No matter what type of shooter you are, the Judge will help you to bring order to your next outing. From home defense to dangerous snakes, there is no such thing as being over prepared. When trekking through the unknown with the Judge, nothing will be a problem. I would highly recommend the Judge for anybody who is looking for the power and versatility of a shotgun to fit in the palm of their hand. When it comes to a versatile revolver, you be the judge.

I'm not a fan of the Judge. I think it's a pretty gimicky revlover to pass off as the most versatile gun on the market as the author stated. I also disgree with his statement about carrying it for snakes and bears. Snakes ok, I can see unloading some birdshot on a snake but using that thing either loaded with shot, buck or even 45 colt loads to defend yourself against bear is pushing it IMO. I have never heard of the 45 colt being an acceptable bear stopper. Maybe with some hopped up buffalo boar or cor-bons but who knows. Will that revolver even handle loads that hot? what do you think.

If it wasn't made by Taurus, I'd think about it. Taurus SUCKS!
