Winter Weekend Trip!

Should we start talking about our winter weekend trip? I've been looking at the paint can and mini keg wood stoves that we talked about in Maine and I'm interested to see if they work!

Lets start some plannin!!

im definetly interested in doing this

this would be a fun trip but i'm out unless it's late jan or feb. I have a snowshoe tripin NH for january that I will need to work around.

what would be everybodys guidlines on this?
1 night or 2 nights,friday to sunday or saturday to sunday,or friday to saturday?
preference on drive time?
we doing backpacking in campout and hike back the next day or car camping?
if we backpack in how many miles everyone want to do?
just trying to get a idea

most places are western pa that got recommended
a cpl places in northeastern pa but they are 4 hours away

I could do either a car camping type trip or a Backpacking trip. A car camping one will allow us to bring more gear.

A backpacking style trip will get us to a more remote area but in the middle of winter even a campground should be pretty remote. If we do a Backpack style trip I would prefer to only keep it under a couple miles because the amount of gear to stay safe overnight may be heavy.

The amount of drive time will determine how many nights for me. If I'm looking at a long drive then I would prefer 2 nights.
