I brought my Sable out in the backyard today to get a feel for the knife. I used it to drop a small diameter sappling and then proceded to chop it up. The handle is pretty comfortable for being round and the knurled grip is pretty sharp. There is no chance this knife will slip out of your hands while swinging it in a hacking motion. For a 5.5" blade it chops through wood pretty good. The blade design also allowed me to make small cuts and to peel bark with no effort at all. Making fuzz sticks for fire making would be very easy. Slicing through some cheap rope I had on hand was also very easy. I will be working on a survival kit for the handle soon and I will put up some pictures when it is completed.

The Sable was brought out today to see how it would handle for chopping and slicing some veggies for a pasta salad I was making today. The knife is a little long for this type of work compared to what I would normally use but it got the job done. I was able to slice some carrots into pretty this pieces which surprised me since the blade is thick for kitchen type work.
