Get off the couch!

Ok armchair commandos, I think we all need to stay off of the couch and actually get out and do stuff.

We should all have plenty to contribute to this site if we actually motivate. No sense in spending all the money on gear, knives and guns if they are just going to sit around. Upon correcting my PC issue I plan on adding a few pictures and videos demonstrating certain activities in the field and at the range.

Hell, show a step by step takedown on a military rifle or go build a shelter. I have a good patch of woods here I plan on doing some field work and will post up on tools I used and some firestarting practices.

I went to my gunclub yesterday to attempt to do some 12ga tests for another board I am on. I wanted to do some penetration tests with birdshot and see what the results would be. I was not able to get any shooting done because I made the mistake of showing up midafternoon on a Saturday. The benches were full with shooters and I did not have the patients to wait for a bench to be free.

I guess I will give it another try on Monday or Tuesday

Yes, I am guilty. Since I will be at home more after this week. I will have plenty of time to start making video's and things like that.

I just wanted to bump this post up as I think we should all take Kaisers advice and get out and do something.

The last couple of weekends I was able to get out and do some scouting for next seasons deer hunt on state land. (I hunt CT shotgun slug and muzzleloader seasons).

While out scouting I was able to get some knife time in by bringing along my Becker Crewman and Ontario rat3. Me and a buddy gathered some tinder and made a fire in the snow using dry wood we had to baton from wet wood laying on the ground. I was also able to finally use a GPS I received as a christmas gift. Though I am far from confident with the controls on it yet I was at least able to take it out of the package

I may be going out on another scout tomorrow, If I doI will bring along my camera and take some pictures for the board.

Apparently we are suppose to get 5-8 inches of snow between today and tomorrow but we'll see how that turns out. we did get some last night but it was mainly sleet with some accumulation. I would like to go out to the woods and mess around with some twine, blades and chopping instruments to tidy up our campsite. That shit is always fun in the snow.

We have flurries right now in CT with no accumilation. We are supposed to get 9 inches from 6pm to 6am.

Can't wait.

I would like to try out my Outdoor Research Gaitors on a hike tomorrow.

Tonight would be a hell of a night for a camping trip Kaiser! Too bad I have to work tomorrow, regardless of the weather.

Hopefully we'll get some nicer weather soon that is more inviting to get outside and get dirty!
