| The sidearm is like the third line of defense- mind, rifle, pistol, knife and then the Fist. Under heavy fire when your rifle mags go dry and you know you're in the shit, this is what you grab. 1911 style
Sig Sauer 220,226,225,etc
Glock 17,19,etc
Springfield XD series
Beretta 92/96,PX4,Cougar,etc
Smith or Ruger wheelgun
HK USP
Ruger P89,P90,P85,etc
I have something else deadly
I only have a Ramline Exactor or worse

| I look at a pistol a little differently. Not to disagree with you about a pistol's place behind a rifle, that's true if you're in combat. For day in, day out use for personal protection while going about your daily business as a civilian you can't beat a pistol. Here's my tool. Kimber Pro Carry II in .45 with factory tritium night sights. This pistol has been 100% right out of the box. Don't believe the bad press that Kimber sometimes gets by "internet experts", they make a fine gun. She's got some nice rosewood grips on her now. And when my finances allow I'll be looking at a bob job, arched MSH and a checkering job on the front strap. | |

| Right on! Nice piece. I had a Para Ord P12 a while ago and had nothing but issues with that pig, supposedly they have bumped up their game since then. I do lack a .45 in my pistol arsenal....maybe one of these days. My carry gun is a Smith 638 snub, my main go-to sidearm is the G17. | |

I have been thinking about the kimber for another addition to the family. How does she run for you?

| Well as I stated, it's 100% reliable. The accuracy is great although I have not shot it further than 50' out. I have shot it in a few steel plate shoots an it performed great. I will say that it has always shot a bit to the left since new and I have not had the chance to have rear sight adjusted. Kimber sights are so tight that I don't want to chance doing it myself. Other than that, it's unreal. The slide feels like it's running on ball bearings! Great gun for the money! | |

| I CC carry a Colt detective special with Badger grips.
But as a go-to I have to stuck with the XDm in .40 I love a hi cap .40 or .45acp if the SHTF Second choice would be a 1911 style operator.
Good to see likeminded fans of the XD series, what is not to like.
Nice Kimber | |

| 3rd world is that colt a .357 or .38 special. I have seen some of new federal nyclads are back out which is an all lead bulled coated with nylon to prevent leading of your barrel. Since they are soft lead they expand pretty reliable. They are known as the old FBI losd. 125 gr all lead Hollow points no jackets. great for short bsrrels. Plus there are a few companies who are marketing loads made to expand out of the shorter barrel guns like the S&W J frames with a 1 and 7/8 barrel... | |
