| Foreign relations with China have been strained for months, The US has been expecting a conflict for some time. The local news station reports missiles being launched at the US. As your deciding what your next course of action will be you look out your window and see the scene below. What would you do next? [img] [/img] | |

| Assuming the blast itself would not flatten my house and I am out of the immediate fallout area I would begin to prep my house This would include filling everything I could get my hands on with water. I would also gas up my generator (It needs some carb work but it runs!). It would be nice to say that I would run into town for extra fuel and supplies but I don't think it would be worth dealing with the masses. As I was doing this I would try and make calls on a landline or cell to the like minded friends and family that I have. Once/if contact with friends had been made we would set up a time and place to meet up. Gear and supplies that I keep stored in my garage would be moved into my house at this time. I would monitor news and radio when/if possible to find out locations of other areas that may have had similar attacks and try and find news related to fallout.

| If I were to look out and see the shroom, it would be panic mode to gather up your gear and get some info on what went down. I'd have available people (friends/family) on different tasks to be out ASAP.
Priority would be to find a route and safe place to head for that had not been hit. Communications and info would be hard to find I'd think as well as transportaion, given your area or even EMP. During 911 cell phones were useless, I remember first hand.
Anyone can go through this in their head and on paper thinking they have it planned out, only when it comes time, that you know you were ready. Plan for the worst and hope it works out so you and yerown survive. | |

| For anyone who wants to hit the road and get out of dodge it would be a good idea of having multiple maps available with pre-planned routes picked out. Having maps of bordering states may be usefull incase you end up way off course on your way to your BOL. I suggest a mapcase such as the military type with a small pen light inside the case. Having the grease pens to go with the map case will also let you write on the plastic that lays over the maps to help track your course Another often overlooked item to have on hand is Wind direction maps to plot Fallout patterns. | Wind maps would be a good idea to add to the Binder we were talking about making Kaiser. | |

| My house in the states is on Tampa Bay. 1st thing is to gather up water & gas, I have both locked up under the house. Rifle (battle), shotgun, rifle (survival, .22), sidearm(.40 XD) and ammo. I keep foul weather gear on the boat already. Haul ass away from land. Contact local family members and pick them up via water. Rendezvous with 2 other likeminded and equally prepared friends at an undisclosed marina in Hillborough county that keeps the keys to all of the liveaboard yachts in a chincey wooden box behind a chincey wooden door in a shitty trailer. Needless to say I would gain enterence, load all provisions into said mega yacht and head to Central America via Cuba for hot poonannie & good rum. Sell yacht Live like a king | |
