i do alot of fishing
have all types rods for all types of fishing fresh and salt water
im looking for one rod and reel to keep with my gear
anyone have any ideas or recommendations

also what fishing gear do you keep with your survival gear

I don't keep fishing gear with my supllies thought I have some freshwater gear in the garage.

If I were planning on having gear with me I would probably look at some of the break down rod/reels that Cabelas markets for Backpacking and hiking. They break down into smaller sections so they can fit in a pack. You can get buy with just line and hooks if you want to make a rod from a tree branch (Huck Fin style) but having a rod and reel will increase your chances of catching fish I would think.
